Kelly's Korner's Show Us Your Life: Wedding Party and Flowers

Kelly has been hosting "Show us" Friday's. I've been tagging along for the ride but have not participating until now. I think it will be fun. :)

Our wedding was originally planned to be outside at my Grandmommy's house. But rain changed things around a little bit. Since we were planning on using the natural background of her garden, we didn't have a whole lot planned in the flower department.

Trevor's favorite color is green and we agreed on green for our wedding color because we felt it wouldn't clash with an outdoor wedding. I wasn't too picky about the dresses that the bridesmaids wore. I just told them the color and the general length that they needed to be and then they chose from there. I wanted to make sure that the dresses they picked would be ones that they can wear again. Also, each of the girls wore pearl jewelry. My dress was covered in pearls, which I absolutely adore! So there were pearls throughout the decor and touches of our wedding.

Our wedding party was small and I liked the closeness that it created.

Ashley Long Cross is my sorority sister. She made college life a little bit more bearable. :)

Martina Diley Harris goes to church with me at Pinelake.

Hayley Hylander is one of my dearest friends and was my maid of honor. We went to high school together. Though sometimes we both get caught up in school and work and living several hours apart, everytime we talk it is as if we haven't skipped a beat at all. She is the only one of my bridesmaids who hasn't gotten married since my wedding. We're expecting her engagement to be announced any day now. :o)

I tried to find a good picture of Trevor and his groomsmen, but Brady seems to be making a face or not looking in each one of them. Thanks, Brady. :)

The boutonnieres were made from the same flowers and pieces as my bridesmaids' bouquet.

In this picture, Ashley is holding the 3 bridesmaids' bouquets and mine (with the linked hearts).

There were two of these plants, one my Grandmommy (my Poppa's mommy) has and my PawPaw (Mom's dad) has the other one. They are my only living grandparents and are very, very dear to me.

My dad made this trellis arch for our wedding. Aunt Linda added some greenery and flowers to it at the last minute for us.

Thanks for coming by! Leave some love and I will most definitely return the favor. I love finding new blogs to read!

Sorry your outdoor wedding got rained out. I love the girls' green dresses.

We used family plants at our wedding as greenery, too. We kept one of the ferns and nicknamed it the "love fern." We killed it, though. :(

Thanks for the comment!

I love the color of your dresses!! And what a great idea to have them wear any dress they want, that makes it a little easier on your end :) Pearls are my absolute favorite, I had pearles mixed with swarovski's for my wedding jewelry. Can't have a wedding without pearls in my opinion :) Haha thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

I have a feeling the front that came through LA and MS also hit alabama with snow! Ha. I think your green was the same color as mine and how cool that we share a date!

I love the green! I really debated between using green and the tan I ended up going with in the end.

Ashley,

Thank you very much for your comment. Oh my, 5 girls and 5 weddings that could be expensive. That is very thoughtful that your frugal nature won out. My bridesmaids' dresses were dark red. It looked beautiful with the red roses!

I really enjoyed looking at your wedding pictures too! So, beautiful! I know for me my wedding day was just the happiest day of my life. I even said that to my husband while we were taking pictures in front of the church. Thanks again.
